Quality Control System Added
10th Jun '07
There has been a problem with people submitting low quality sites to
StumbleXchange. We have therefore added a system where you, the members help us keep
a high standard at StumbleXchange.
When you don't like a site and choose to hide it using the 'Don't Show Again' link,
you are effectively flagging that site. Once a site has 5 or more members flagging
it, our administration team are notified and review the site. If it is indeed a low quality
site or a site that utilizes redirects then we will remove that URL from the system and
also add it to the banned URLs list to prevent it from being submitted again.
We are also considering giving out RP penalties for the members who submit these sites,
which will be decided within the next few days.

Site SQL Optimized
9th Jun '07
As you will be well aware, the 'Stumble' page was very slow at loading,
with the load time sometimes exceeding 115 seconds. As this was unacceptable we worked
on optimizing this script and have now cut it down to an average of 0.5 seconds.
Also we have ordered the sites in the 'Stumble' section by Reputation Points so that
the more active members sites are shown above the less active members.

Verification Process Fixed
8th Jun '07
There was recently a problem with the verification process and this has
now been fixed. The way the script verifies the URLs was completely changed so if you
find any bugs please report to us on the DP forum. It has however reduced the time it
takes to verify the stumbles.

Increased Reliability!
9th Apr '07
Various members on DP were complaining that the verification process wasn't
very accurate. After some research it was found that this was due to a case-sensitivity
problem which has now been addressed.
The site should now be working correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Latest Updates
30th Mar '07
We have noticed that the 'Stumble' page is loading slowly and have modified
the code slightly to improve the loading time. This change has in fact halved the time it
takes for the 'Stumble' page to load. We will be looking for other ways to improve the loading
speed so please be patient.
In addition to this, we have also now added the banner rotation feature that allows members
to show their banner in the header section (top right). This also costs just $10 for 1,000
impressions and ensures maximum exposure for your site.
Unlike the sponsored listing feature, the banner is shown to any visitor of the site so
even guests will see your ads.

Sponsored Listings Added!
25th Feb '07
There is now the ability to make your listing a sponsored listing. This
costs just $10 for 1,000 impressions and ensures your site is noticed by our members.
For more information visit the Sponsors page.

Verification Process Improved
3rd Feb '07
A problem during the verification process was found. It was due to
a case-sensitivity problem. However this has now been fixed and should be working
correctly.

Updates Finished
1st Feb '07
Some updates have been carried out on the site:
- As discussed previously, the 'Don't Show Again' feature now hides only the
URL in the 'Stumble' section. In the 'Waiting' section it is still hiding the
user as before. This is due to a problem in the algorism which will be addressed
shortly.
- The verification system seemed to be working a little slowly recently and
for this reason we have changed the site we use for a proportion of our verification
process. This means it should be quicker, however as we have only just changed to
this site there maybe problems we have not forseen. If you come across any problems
please follow the link at the top of the 'Stumble' and 'Waiting' pages. You will
then be redirected to DigitalPoint where you can state your problem.
- Now there is the ability to view who has stumbled you and are waiting your
stumble, and also the ability to view people who have not stumbled you back.

Update on Hold
28th Jan '07
The update mentioned in the previous post has been put on hold
while we sort out a problem on another site we run. The update should be
completed within the next few days.
Please note all services will be running as normal during this time.

'Don't Show Again' System Being Changed
27th Jan '07
First of all please accept our apologies about the verification
problem that occured for the duration of several hours yesterday. This was due
to the fact that a site we utilize to check the stumbles changed their site,
which caused problems for our script.
The problem has now been fixed.
We are also going to start work on upgrading the 'Don't Show Again' system.
Currently when you click on 'Don't Show Again' you are preventing the user's
listing from appearing again. We are going to change this so that when you
click on 'Don't Show Again' it is in fact preventing that particular URL from
appearing again. This gives the offending user another chance to submit a better
website.
We will also be creating a system so that URLs with X number of 'Don't Show
Again' votes will automatically be removed from the database + be added to the
banned URLs list. The offending user will then get a email informing them to
change the URL to a different one.
Once these changes have been made we will announce it on here.
Please note that you will still be able to access our site and use our services
during this time. The only thing we will disable is the 'Don't Show Again'
option.

Even More Updates!
24th Jan '07
More updates have been carried out on the site. There are a few more
things we are going to do in the next few days so keep an eye on this spot!:

- 'Change Password' page added.
- Shortened website listings on 'Stumble' & 'Waiting' pages to prevent
distortion of table
- UserCP 'Hacking Attempt...' bug fixed

you to view which links you have clicked on on that page load.
- A reminder email is now sent out to inactive members with RP of 0, or blank
listings on stumbleXchange. This is sent out every Saturday at 4am GMT and hopefully
will increase returning visitors.
- 'News & Updates' section, i.e. this page has been added to keep members informed
about the latest changes.
